Solidarity to Tiny House Warriors

Visionaries Gathering stands in solidarity with Tiny House Warriors and Kanahus Freedom Manuel in their fight for their sovereign right to the management of ancestral and unceeded sacred lands and waters of the Secwepemc.

We denounce the Canadian government and its laws for using institutions such as the RCMP to harass Indigenous peoples on their territories and the communities instating the colonial power over the people's rights in accordance to the United Nations Declaration on Indigenous Peoples Rights:

"Article 3 Indigenous peoples have the right to self-determination. By virtue of that right they freely determine their political status and freely pursue their economic, social and cultural development.

Article 4 Indigenous peoples, in exercising their right to self determination, have the right to autonomy or self government in matters relating to their internal and local affairs, as well as ways and means for financing their autonomous functions.

Article 5 Indigenous peoples have the right to maintain and strengthen their distinct political, legal, economic, social and cultural institutions, while retaining their right to participate fully, if they so choose, in the political, economic, social and cultural life of the State."

Visionaries’ Gathering is an interactive convergence and a holistic event that aims to bring people of diverse perspectives and experiences together to reconstruct and heal our relations with the earth, each other, and ourselves. From this reconstruction we intend to co-create and build a community that advocates for the sovereignty of all interrelated entities of earth, including the waters, lands, winds, fires, plants, animals and peoples.

We acknowledge that the land on which we work and play is the ancestral and unceeded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, particularly the of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. As uninvited guests, it is our responsibility to honour these hosts by being an accomplice, reinvigorating the presence of our indigeneities
